Peachtown Elementary School Summer Camps 2010

The Edible Container Garden

Session I: June 28 – July 2

Session II: July 19 – July 23

Ages 8 and Up

9 AM to 2 PM

Using recycled or re-usable materials, create your own container garden to take home with you, to care for and watch grow over the summer. Learn about composting, bugs, eating a rainbow, and getting your hands dirty! The week will end with a cooking class to learn a few simple recipes that you can make at home. Bring you own lunch.

Mixed Media Art Camp

“Characters Come Alive" Creative Writing Camp

August 16 – August 20

Grades 5 - 9

9 AM to 2 PM

Children will make their own journals before creating characters that come alive for readers. Throughout the week, participants will learn how to write plays, short stories, memoirs and poetry. On Friday, we will host a public reading of our work, which will be bound to make a group anthology. Bring a composition notebook, USB drive and pens. Bring a digital camera if you have one.
