For 32 years, Peachtown Elementary School has cherished our partnership with Wells College. The school has been an integral part of the college campus since our Wells alum founders were invited to establish roots here in 1992. This symbiotic relationship has nurtured students from both institutions for decades. All of us in Aurora are currently grappling with the devastating loss of our beloved Wells College.
In these challenging times, we seek to retain an important part of our cherished institution. We urge the Wells College Board of Trustees to donate Peachtown Cottage and the surrounding grounds to Peachtown Elementary School - a registered 501(c)(3) educational organization, chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. This action can not only safeguard a vital part of our community but also strengthen the legacy of Wells College in educating future generations on these historic grounds.
